If you're feeling like your agency is in a slump, then maybe it's time to re-energize with some fresh and new insurance marketing ideas. Not sure where to begin? Check out these 34 insurance marketing ideas and tips:

  1. Sponsor or join a local community event.
  2. Volunteer your time or resources to a charity close to your heart.
  3. Advertise on social media sites like Facebook or Twitter. Ads on these sites can cost as little as $1 per day.
  4. Call up old leads. They might not have been ready to buy before, but they may be now.
  5. Join Facebook groups. There are many groups on Facebook for all kinds of interests, topics, and subjects. You never know who you'll meet on these groups.
  6. Use unique giveaways at your next event, like smoke detector batteries, emergency contact cards, or safety whistles. These are things that not only make you stand out but remind people of what they need to keep safe.

  8. Sponsor or join an auto show.
  9. Offer to be a speaker at a high school or college.
  10. Support or sponsor a local high school sports team.
  11. Go to a local restaurant and offer to sponsor a fishbowl raffle where people can drop their business cards and you pick a random winner to win a meal at the restaurant..
  12. Not sure what to Tweet or share on Facebook? How about letters of praise from happy clients? Make sure you get their permission and block out any personal information.
  13. Cross-promote with other business in your area. You can team up with a real estate agent, broker, or even a mechanic and refer each other customers.
  14. Write for your local paper or community website.
  15. Network with apartment managers. If you sell renters insurance, this is a great way to get referrals.
  16. Create a coverage checklist and hand these out to potential clients. This way, they know what they need to get to ensure they have the right amount of insurance for their needs.
  17. Give away keychain tags. That way, people have your contact information even if they're not at home.
  18. Comment on your local news websites. But be careful with what you say and stay away from controversial news stories.
  19. Do you have promotional pens? Don't just give them away to your clients, but leave them at places where people need them, like at your credit union, supermarket, or coffee shop.
  20. If you have LinkedIn, add as many connections as you can. It's not about connecting with people you know, but rather, putting yourself on the radar of people they know.
  21. Sponsor a free baby car seat safety class.
